AC Start is “pre-orientation” – it’s where full-time, Level 1 Winter intake students get organized before AC Day 1.

AC Start gives you (plus parents/families/spouses) a chance to visit the Ottawa campus prior to the first day of school, so that you can get a head start on the information and tools that will set you up for success.

At AC Start you will:

  • Familiarize yourself with the online tools you will use to access timetables, grades, and email
  • Learn about eTexts and how to use them
  • Take a campus tour
  • Check out info booths at the College Trade Show
  • Get your AC Card/U-Pass (student ID)

A Parent/Family/Spouse Information Session will also be offered on this day.

AC Start sessions run 2:00pm-5:00pm and are on two different dates (Thursday, December 14, or Wednesday, January 3) so you can attend the one that best fits your schedule (do not sign up for both sessions). All AC Start sessions will take place in Robert C. Gillett Student Commons (E Building). (Not sure which School your Program falls under? AC Card Pick Up

Algonquin Parking Services is pleased to offer all new students attending AC Start a reduced-rate day parking pass in Lots 8, 9, and 12 for $4.42. If you wish to purchase a parking pass for the AC Start date you have registered for, please click here to be directed to the online form, and select “Special Events” to access the reduced rate. This offer is for AC Start only, not AC Day 1. Please ensure you have purchased this reduced-rate parking pass prior to arriving on campus – we are unable to sell the passes on site. 

If you have purchased an Algonquin parking permit, please park in your designated area (Lot 8, 9, or 12). If you do not have a permit, limited parking will be available in the Pay & Display Lot 12, or in the Visitor’s Parking Lot, for a fee.
